ST JOHN THE BAPTIST
GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH

GOYA
What is GOYA?” you ask? It is a youth group made up of teenagers from 7th through 12th grades who
share in the life of the Church, solving real problems, working on real projects, and making real decisions. In other words, GOYA
is the group in which our youth put their faith into action! The mission and goal of GOYA ministry is to lead our young people into
experiencing the Holy Orthodox Faith. By developing a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and becoming active
sacramental members of the living Church, our young people will be equipped with tools necessary to assist them in their journey toward
salvation. Our youth group will be focused on liturgia (worship), koinonia (fellowship), diakonia (service), and martyria (witness).
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Fr. Stavros at the Church Office. The GOYA advisors are Jim and Mary Larkin and
Christine Katsekis.
The GOYA meeting for March will be Sunday, March 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Kourmolis Center. There will
also be a meeting on Sunday, April 2, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Kourmolis Center. Dinner will be provided at both meetings.
Saint John will be hosting the second Annual GOYA Lenten Retreat on April 7-9. GOYAns from around the Tampa Bay area will be participating.
